SIVAKOTI TEMPLE

A Hindu devotee need not be told that a temple is an abode of God.  It is a place meant for a human being to meet God and to get elevated from his present status.  A devotee may visit a temple to benefit in Dharma, Artha, Kama or Moksha according to one’s status and requirement.  In order to achieve it, the place of devotion has to be built and daily devotional programs should be done in accordance with the Hindu tradition following Agama rules.  More powerful a place of devotion more will be the benefit a devotee can reap!

Construction of the Sivakoti Temple

Meaning of Shivakoti: Shivakoti means ‘A gathering of devotional ganas (Sub Gods in a way) of Lord Shiva’.   As the name of the temple suggests, the temple has many of the deities to fulfill various wishes of the devotees. The temple was constructed according to the rules laid out in Agama Shastra and according to temple vastu with tall towers consecrating the deities at the right places and directions. 24 Nandis were consecrated on the prakara. Sri Lalitha Devi is sitting along with Lakshmi and Saraswati on the spire at the entrance (Gali Gopuram).  Dwara Ganapati gives darshan at the entrance of the Gopuram. The construction of the temple was started by performing the ritual of Shanku Stapana on May 2, 2005.  The deities were consecrated-sanctified on June 14, 2006.

Deities at Siva Koti Temple

The Deities 1.Dwara Ganapati (on the entrance of the tower), 2.Dhwaja Ganapati, 3.Swetha Ganapati and 4.Mula Ganapati darshan of all the forms of these Ganapati on the fourth day of the Hindu month- Chaviti will be beneficial.  Darshan of Ganapati in standing position and Hanuma in sitting position will do enormous good to a devotee. Ganapati of this temple is also called Sankatahara Ganapati, Gokarna Ganapati & Dwibhuja Ganapati. He is worshipped as a remover of the hurdles and all the obstacles in one’s endeavor to achieve a set goal, especially the Rahu-Ketu Dosha.  It also pleases the Graha-Ketu.

The SIVAKOTI temple has three Gurus “Guru Trayam” – 1.Sri Dakshmina Murthy2.Sri Dattatreya and 3.Sri Saibaba, to get relieved from many hurdles related to education, marriage and children by visiting and performing abhisheka on Thursdays and will please ‘Brihaspati’ by the Grace of “Guru Trayam”.

There are Naga Dhananjayas in the form of serpents along with their wives.  Preforming pooja to them will ward off Kala Sarpa and Naga doshas.

If the pooja and abhisheka to Vishnu Durga and Sarparaja is performed, it will ward off Rahu-Dosha and  Graha-Rahu’ will be pleased.

You find Lingodbhava Murti on the back of the sanctum sanctorum (Garbha Gudi).

Yantrodharaka Anjaneya Swami (Vayuputra Hanuman) surrounded by 12 vanaras are consecrated in a yantra in the corner of ‘vayuvya’.   Worshiping of this Maha Yantra will yield all the successes and ward off Graha-Budha Dosha.

Sri Chandeeswara, an important one among the Ganas and an authority on Shiva Nirmalya because of which reason the Prasada of Shiva first has to be offered before taking it.   It is described in the scriptures that he likes to hear nothing but the name of Shiva all the time. In the temple the Kala Bhairava is installed in the North and North East corner who is the Kshetrapalaka of the temple and has to be visited first before entering the main temple. Performing pooja to this deity on Bahula Ashtami (Eighth day of the Hindu month after full moon) will save a devotee from all the Graha doshas and especially ward off Angaraka and Rahu Graha doshas.

Navagrahas are in the North East side of the temple.  It is said by the scriptures that these Grahas organize the relevant results of the human beings according to their sins in their previous births that is Prarabhda Karmas.  They are part of the Shiva’s clan who became powerful because of their devotion to Shiva.   Graha doshas will disappear if the deities of Navagrahas are worshipped with devotion.  The most powerful among them ‘Shanaischara Swamy’ is installed separately in the East so that the devotees can perform Tailabhisheka (Abhisheka with oil) on Saturdays and light Shani Deepa (light) to get the blessings of shani to get saved from the Mrityu Gandam (untimely death) and Daridra (poverty).  Shani Pradosha Pooja will ward off Shani Dosha.

Bahirnandi who is a sacred Rishi, the creator of Panchakshari mantra and an embodiment of Dharma has to be worshipped to safeguard Dharma in the universe.  Darshan of Shiva is done through the gap between the two horns of Nandi.  It indicates that the darshan of God is possible only through Dharma.

Nagabandha Subrahmanyeswara Swami is the deity who gives fast results.  Pleasing him by performing pooja will ward off Kuja dosha related to the marriage and other doshas like Rina (financial crisis), Roga (disease), Santana (fertility) and Naga dosha.

Coming to the Sanctum Sanctorum, the devotee will be blessed by Sri Siva Kameswara housed there with his spouse Sri Lalita Siva Kameswari.  The mere darshan of the Great Marakata Linga worshipped by Sri Parsurama, one of the avatars of Sri Narayana will remove all the sins.

If the deity is worshipped especially on Shani Pradosh, Monthly Shivaratri and on a Monday, all the Navagraha doshas will be removed and their genuine desires will be fulfilled.

The Goddess Sri Lalitha Shivakameswari is a matching deity appearing in a towering six feet height idol looking magnificent and spreading radiance.  The name Lalitha means embodiment of beauty.  She appears in the sanctum sanctorum with her peacefully shining face showering radiance of wisdom and Shodasha Kalas (16 types of arts).

It is very rare to get darshan of Adidampathulu (the very first couple of the universe) at one place of devotion together and worshipping them together gets a devotee so much of benefit that even Brahma cannot describe it, as the scriptures say!  And we have got that rare opportunity in this temple.

Surya Graha dosha will be removed if these deities are worshipped with the recitation of Namaka.  Worshipping the Goddess will relieve one from Chandra and Sukra Doshas.  Mere Darshan of Sri Kameswari and Sri Kameswara and performing Archana with devotion will reduce maha pathakas (great sins) and sanchita and prarabhda karmas (sins that are accumulated including the ones carried from the previous incarnations) and the devotees will avoid Yama darshana.

So, pay a visit along with your family members to get rid of all doshas (curses) and lead a happy and satisfied life with Bhakti and Jnana with the grace of the deities Sri Kameswari and Sri Kameswara Swamy.
